I had the opportunity to design some bookplates for people as gifts. For the uninitiated, bookplates are stickers you put inside books to identify who owns ’em. They often include the words “ex libris”, which is Latin for “from the library of…”. Many of these things are considered works of art in themselves and some were designed by famous artists and engravers like Escher, Dürer, Chagall, Beardsley, Rockwell Kent, and Paul Freakin’ Revere, if you can believe that. Anyway, if I ever get to the point of having a gift store on the site, I may do some bookplates to sell. We shall see. I’ll have to run it by the Marketing Department first.
